I am a barbecue sauce nut, and I try all sorts of bbq sauce from coast to coast and from overseas.

Very few barbecue sauces make my "short list," and Chef Hymie Grande is one of them.

Small Batch and Fresh

First off, Chef Hymie Grande is made small batch with fresh ingredients. Yes. You can tell the difference. You have real stuff in there that you can see like when your Momma makes something at home. That is guessing that your Momma makes good home cooked stuff - which I do so hope.

Vegan and Diabetic Friendly

I don't go out looking for sauces for special diets, because our special diet is, "See it. Eat it." But, I do understand that it's terrific to have barbecue sauces when there are family or friends who can't eat just everything.

I confess that I did not tell my teen boys that Chef Hymie Grande is healthy barbecue sauce. It is vegan and also carries the American Diabetic seal.

Verdict on a Great Healthy BBQ Sauce

It was all thumbs up around here. The boys never figured out that they had barbecue sauce that's good for them. They just noticed that it's really good tasting barbecue glaze.

Tips

Chef Hymie Grande does have a tomato base in there, so you want to put that on the last 5 or 10 minutes on the grill, so it does not burn. Grillers just want it to "set."

In the oven or broiling, I just slather it on. Chef Hymie Grande is delicious inside and outside, so you do not have to be an outdoor cook to love this barbecue sauce with lots of flavor and delicate notes that will impress even your most picky foodie friends.
