Cleaning the grill is a dirty job, but someone has to do it. Or, they should. Actually, a recent study by HPBA indicated that some home grillers never bother to clean the grill period. That’s a scary thought, and that extra gunk on there does not enhance the flavor of your barbecue foods.

Grill Floss to the Rescue

I always hated to clean grills too before I got Grill Floss.

Those grill brushes just don’t work well. They don’t get into the corners, and the bristles smash down after just a few uses. I also read a news report about a woman who had surgery after eating a burger that had collected a piece of metal from a grill brush. Yikes. That’s scary.

Grill Floss is a totally different way to clean grill grates. Grill Floss is a metal rod with a hook at the end. In fact, there are two hooks. You have to take out the nut and flip it over if you have wider grates, but that’s super easy to do. So, yes, Grill Floss does work on every grill I own, and I do have quite a collection of barbecue grills.

Using Grill Floss

To use Grill Floss, all you do is run the hook up and down the metal grate rods. It really is a lot like flossing teeth. And, like dental floss, Grill Floss gets those hard to reach spaces.

I do find that Grill Floss works best when the grates are warm, but they don’t have to be heated. It just takes a little longer when there’s no heat to soften up the stuck on crud.

It does take a little time to floss a grill, but it’s much easier to floss than to scrub with a grill brush. And, the results are much better with Gill Floss. I can make a barbecue grate look almost brand new with a good flossing.
