A kettle gas grill was thought to be impossible, but OutdoorChef nailed it with City Grill. The secret is in the funneling system which is the heart of this top-notch tailgate grill that will do anything from sear a steak to slow cook chicken to perfection.

The Funnels in the City Grill

There are two funnels inside the City Grill that can be turned up or down for a tight high heat focus in the center for caramelizing or set wide like a traditional funnel for grilled burgers or for chicken with the lid on with the temperature turned down low.

Kettle Shape Means Even Heating

The kettle design allows for great heat circulation and for convection grilling (lid on) which makes this little gas grill one of the most versatile on the market. In fact, it could be the main family grill, since the grate is large and will hold almost as much food as many full-sized grills.

Easy Pack and Go Grill

As far as portability, the base and the kettle come apart with easy-pull pens, which means that this little gas grill can go on the deck or in the trunk for tailgating or camping. It weights next to nothing and is a great grill to pull out under any circumstances.

While I own full-sized gas grills, I’m more likely to fire up the City Grill. It’s just easy to manage and turns out great grilled foods. For a road trip or camping, it’s perfect. I can fit this little gas grill in a Corolla trunk and don’t bust a gut getting it out to where I want to cook outdoors.

Love the Outdoorchef City Grill

There are few grills that I really think trump a class, but I’d have to say that OutdoorChef City Grill is tops for a gas tailgater and is solid for a home gas grill, unless you have a ghastly number of people stopping by.
